Pelican 1170 cases come standard empty, or with Pelican’s easy to use Pick ‘N Pluck foam. This foam is pre-scored and allows you to customize the interior by removing half inch cubes to create a compartment. Simply trace out the item you want in the case and pluck the foam out by hand. You can customize your case simply and easily.
Pelican 1170 Foam Filled cases have interior foam as follows : 3 total pieces of Polyurethane foam layers that include, 1 piece 2.78" thick Pick 'N' Pluck; 1 piece 1/2 thick solid foam on bottom & 1 piece convoluted foam for the lid.
Pelican 1170 case is unbreakable, watertight, dustproof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof. It is made of Ultra High Impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. Its exclusive 1/4" neoprene o-ring and ABS latches seal perfectly and includes an automatic breather valve for quick equalization of air pressure.
